Randy Ramirez Earns February Men's Student-Athlete of the Month Accolades

ANNER ELK, N.C. --- Lees-McRae College senior Randy Ramirez has been named the Male Student-Athlete of the Month for February 2014, announced College officials Monday.

Ramirez (Guaynabo, Puerto Rico) currently sits fourth in Conference Carolinas with 8.97 assists per set. The senior dished out 10.24 assists per set in February while LMC enjoyed a 7-3 record, including a flawless 3-0 home slate.

Ramirez tallied 29 kills, including seven in a sweep of Coker at home Feb. 15. On Feb. 14, he handed out a month-high 49 assists while the Bobcats won a five-set thriller at Pfeiffer.

He played in 34 sets and recorded 1.21 digs per set and notched 12 service aces.

The Lees-McRae College Student-Athlete of the Month Award honors one male and one female student-athlete each much from an in-season sport during the 2013-2014 academic year, recognizing their hard work, effort, and athletic performance.
