Camps & Clinics

 

Lees-McRae College has a very active summer camp program that opens the College’s athletic facilities, as well as residential and dining service accommodations, to camp participants during the summer months in the mountains of northwest North Carolina. The region also features several excellent recreational opportunities for campers while staying on the Lees-McRae campus, which has the highest elevation of any college or university in the Eastern United States.

REGISTRATION FOR SUMMER ATHLETIC CAMPS
  • To register for a camp, either click on the name of the desired camp, follow the link to the registration page at the top of this page, or utilize the contact information provided for that camp.
  • You will receive a confirmation email once your registration has been submitted, confirming your spot in that camp program.
  • All registration fees must be paid prior to the first day of the camp session.
  • Lees-McRae Athletics reserves the right to cancel a camp program with at least two weeks notice, should that program not reach a minimum number of participants.

Boys Basketball (June 19-21):

  • Day camp offering an emphasis on individual instruction in all facets of the game.
  • Open to players ages 7-17.
  • Will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.
  • $100 per camper.

Boys Team Basketball Camp (June 17-18): 

  • Open to all high school boys' basketball teams (both varsity and junior varsity).
  • Will feature instructional time, as well as games between teams. 
  • Players and coaches will stay in Less-McRae residential facilities with all meals provided.

Lil' Bobcat Basketball Camp (June 24-25): 

  • Day camp offering daily instruction in all facets of the game, as well as station work and 3-on-3 competition. 
  • Open to both boys and girls in grades 3-6. 
  • Will run from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. 
  • $50 per player.
  • Each camper will receive a free T-Shirt.
  • Walk-ins welcome - registration begins at 8 a.m. on first day of camp.

Bobcat Elite Girls Basketball Camp (June 26-27):

  • Day camp offering daily instruction in all facets of the game, as well as position development and several different forms of competition.
  • Open to players in grades 7-12. 
  • Will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The cost of this camp is $115, including lunch. Each camper will receive a free T-Shirt.
  • Walk-ins welcome - registration begins at 8 a.m. on first day of camp.

Girls Basketball Team Camp (June 14-15):

  • Day or residential camp open to all high school teams, both varsity and junior varsity.
  • Paid officials will be present for all varsity games.
  • Regulation time will be kept for all games.
  • $150 for commuting teams playing three games.
  • $250 for commuting teams playing six games.
  • Meals are available for commuting teams at a cost of $9.00 per person for lunch, and $10.50 per person for dinner.
  • $150 for overnight teams playing three games, plus a boarding fee of $80 per player.
  • $250 for overnight teams playing six games, plus a boarding fee of $80 per player.
  • Boarding fee includes lodging plus three meals per day in Lees-McRae's Dining Hall.

Boys Lacrosse Camp (July 7-11): 

  • Features individual instruction in all aspects of the game, as well as a chance to enjoy the many recreational facilities around the Lees-McRae campus.
  • Campers may stay in Lees-McRae residential facilities, with all meals provided.
  • A day camp option is also available.
  • $285 for residential campers, $165 for day campers.

Girls Lacrosse Rising Stars Camp (June 14-16): 

  • Open to players currently enrolled in middle school or high school. 
  • Beginning, intermediate and advanced campers who want to develop their skill in preparation for their high school team.
  • Campers will stay in Lees-McRae’s residential halls with all meals provided; a day camp option is also available.
  • $285 for residential campers, $165 for day campers.
  • Each camper will receive a Lees-McRae women’s lacrosse reversible jersey to take home.

Boys Soccer (Residential I June 22-25; Residential II June 30-July 3, Residential III July 21-25): 

  • Three residential sessions.
  • Will feature individual instruction on all facets of the game for players interested in attending Lees-McRae College. 
  • Registration fee will include room and board on the Lees-McRae campus for the duration of the camp, which is limited to 28 players. 
  • Session I will run June 22-25; session II will run June 30-July 3 and session III will run July 21-25.

Girls Soccer Collegiate ID Camp (June 1): 

  • One day session will be offered for current high school players.
  • This camp will feature a practice session, lunch in Banner Elk, a campus tour, and an NCAA seminar.
  • Will run from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.

Kids Recreational Soccer Camp (July 15-19): 

  • Kids (for both boys and girls) recreational camp for ages 5-14. 
  • The camp features soccer drills, activities, trips to Wildcat Lake for lunch, and swimming in the Rhea-Lyons Pool in the afternoon. 
  • Lunch is available from Subway. 
  • This camp will run from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 9 a.m. until 12 noon on Friday.

The High Country Softball Day Camp (June 11-13): 

  • Open for campers ages 8-14. 
  • Offers instruction in all skills in the game, including throwing, hitting, running, pitching, and catching. 
  • Will run from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. each day.

Tennis (Dates TBD):  A recreational camp that features individual instruction involving all the facets of the game of tennis.

 

Lees-McRae College fields 19 Varsity sports, and is a member of the National Colligate Athletic Association (Division II), and Conference Carolinas.  The College is also a member of USA Cycling (Division I).
