Four Men's Volleyball Players Tabbed to Conference Carolinas All-Academic Team

HIGH POINT, N.C. --- Four Lees-McRae
men’s volleyball student-athletes were named to the 2014
Men’s Volleyball Conference Carolinas All-Academic team, the
conference office announced Friday afternoon.
The 2014 Conference Carolinas Men’s Volleyball Academic
All-Conference representatives have been awarded to the following
junior and senior student-athletes with a cumulative grade point
average of 3.25 or higher on a 4.0 scale in all work
completed at their member institution that have played in a
conference sponsored sport. The GPA is calculated based on the
student-athletes cumulative average through the previous semester
and each student-athlete must have attended their member
institution for at least one academic year.
The LMC quartet consists of four seniors, Matt Harpenau, John
Lucas, Kevin Morrison and Efrain Negron.
Harpenau (Cincinnati, Ohio) is an art and design major with a
business minor. Lucas (Cincinnati, Ohio) is a communication arts
study major with a minor in fine arts.
Morrison (Norfolk, Va.) is a sports science major while earning
a math and business minor. Negron (Caguas, Puerto Rico) is
completing his studies in sports science.
The Bobcats tied Pfeiffer for the most representatives while no
other school had more than two. Barton, Limestone and Mount Olive
had two each while King and Belmont Abbey had one.
LMC concludes its regular season this weekend while hosting
Limestone tonight at 7 p.m. and welcoming Erskine for Senior Day
Saturday at noon.
