Wohlers, Pinel Tabbed to Conference Carolinas Tennis All-Academic Squads

HIGH POINT, N.C. --- Lees-McRae junior Samantha Wohlers and senior Carlos Pinel have been tabbed to the Conference Carolinas Tennis All-Academic teams for their performances in the classroom, the conference office announced Tuesday afternoon.

The 2014 Conference Carolinas Tennis All-Academic representatives have been awarded to junior and senior student-athletes with a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 or higher on a 4.0 scale in all work completed at their member institution that have played in a conference sponsored sport. The GPA is calculated based on the student-athletes cumulative average through the previous semester and each student-athlete must have attended their member institution for at least one academic year.

Wohlers (Windsor, Ontario, Canada) is an English major and has accumulated two wins at No. 1 singles and three at No. 1 doubles play for the Bobcats.

Barton led all CC schools with four representatives while Belmont Abbey, Limestone and Limestone placed three on the list. North Greenville and Pfeiffer had two while Converse, Erskine, King and LMC had one.

Pinel (Vitoria, Espírito Santo, Brazil) is majoring in psychology and has racked up four wins, including two at No. 3 singles.

Mount Olive impressed with five individuals on the men’s team while Erskine and King had four apiece. Pfeiffer had a trio while Barton placed two. North Greenville, Limestone and LMC had one each.
