• Mark Polsgrove promoted to Associate Head Coach for Men’s Basketball

    BANNER ELK, N.C. – Lees-McRae College’s Head Men’s Basketball Coach Steve Hardin announced Monday that Mark Polsgrove has been promoted to the title of Associate Head Coach. Polsgrove will enter his second season as a part of the Bobcat coaching staff for the 2018-19 season.

    HIGH POINT, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College women’s cross country program was picked to finish 10th in the Conference Carolinas Preseason Women’s Cross Country Coaches’ Poll the league office announced Friday afternoon. In addition to the announcement of the preseason poll, the league also announced that Jordyn Halvorsen, Sarah Bowman and Tahlia Schreiber were named as runners to watch for Lees-McRae this fall.

Along with the team receiving the second place nod, the trio of Austin Thompson, Joshua Hall and Nolan Capps were all named as runners to watch for the Bobcats this season.

Overall, the Bobcats signed 10 student-athletes, including eight from North Carolina, one from Maine and one from Tennessee.

Cat Lovallo, who has been the program’s assistant coach for the past three seasons, has been promoted to the head coach role effective immediately.

    BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College men’s basketball team announced the additions of four transfers to its roster for the upcoming 2018-19 campaign. The newest Bobcats include: Deshawn Patterson (Lenoir, N.C.), Jerick Haynes (Shelby, N.C.), Wes Morgan (Charlotte, N.C.) and Mike Lee Jr. (Durham, N.C.). Collectively, these four student-athletes have one NCAA Division II Final Four appearance, three national tournament appearances on the junior college level, three high school state championship appearances and one high school state championship on their resumes.

    BANNER ELK, N.C. – Coming off a season where it returned to the national polls, the Lees-McRae College men’s soccer team hopes to duplicate that success this fall as it announced its 2018 schedule Friday afternoon. The 2018 schedule includes two exhibition matches, 10 Conference Carolinas contests and 11 tilts at Tate Field. LMC will open its schedule August 18 when it hosts Wingate in an exhibition, and it will open its regular season on August 30 at Anderson University.

The 20-match slate features three exhibition tilts, 11 Conference Carolinas matchups and 12 contests at Tate Field. LMC will open its 2018 slate on August 18 when it hosts Milligan College in an exhibition match before kicking off the regular season on August 30 hosting Lenoir-Rhyne at Tate Field.

Bayle Wood was LMC’s lone First Team honoree in the javelin throw. On the men’s team, Luke Rochester (pole vault) led the way with a Second Team honor, while Josh Cady (pole vault), Cooper Abernathy (javelin throw), Austin Thompson (5000m run) and Jason Saintizaire (high jump) were all placed on the Third Team.
