BANNER ELK, N.C. - The Lees-McRae College Skiing & Snowboarding team traveled to Lake Placid, New York to compete at the USCSA Nationals last month. The week-long event was held at Whiteface Mountain (site of 1980 Winter Olympics) and included more than 500 student-athletes.

Overall, the men’s team placed eighth among 17th schools, while the women’s team was 16th out of 20 schools. Individually, the Bobcats were led by senior Kaitlyn Gearing, who shattered the program’s record in heptathlon by nearly 1,000 points with a point total of 4,232.

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Lees-McRae College softball player Kara Cunningham was named the Conference Carolinas Pitcher of the Week Tuesday afternoon by the league office. It marks the second time this season that Cunningham has earned this honor, and the third time during her collegiate career.
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Lees-McRae College men’s volleyball player Michael Wahl was recognized Monday by being the Off the Block/Molton National Libero of the Week. Wahl is the second Bobcat player to receive a player of the week honor this season joining fellow freshman Robert Bowling who earned the Conference Carolinas Player of the Week honor back in January.
