Cross Country prepares for Lenoir Rhyne Invitational; Men's Soccer loses to CVAC rival Queen's in double overtime; Women's soccer falls at Queen's; Volleyball falls to ETSU, splits in CVAC play, losing at Limestone and beating Anderson in CVAC action.

This Week: Lenoir Rhyne Invitational
Both the women and men's teams were not scheduled to race last
week, instead using the weekend to prepare for the Lenoir Rhyne
Invitational this weekend. Last time out Freshman Chris Holtsein
(Middleburg, FL) led the men with a personal best 28:05 on the five
mile course, finishing 18th out of 172 runners at the Eye Opener
Invitational in Spartanburg, SC. The women were led by a pair of
freshman as Dana Lindholm (Weaverville, NC) finished 8th with a
personal best time 19:55 for the 5K (3.1 mile) course while Carla
Swart (Buford, GA) ran 20:35 and finished 18th out of 181 runners.
Classmate Ashley May (Chilhowie, VA) improved on her 5k time with a
mark of 20:43, a 47 second improvement from her previous race.
Senior Casey Willis (Vale, NC) had another big improvement as she
went from 22:20 to 21:35.
Men's Soccer: (4-2-1, 1-1 CVAC)

This Week: 9/18: at King, 9/21: vs. USC-Upstate, 9/23: vs. Coker
The Bobcats dropped a Carolinas-Virginia Athletic Conference match up on the road at Queen's University, falling 2-1 in double overtime. The Bobcats were scheduled to play CVAC foe Pfeiffer University on September 13th, however heavy rainfall over the days preceding the game caused the contest to be rescheduled. The Bobcats will hit the road for a non-conference match up against King College before returning home to host USC-Upstate in non-conference play Thursday September 23rd. The Bobcats will resume their CVAC schedule at home Saturday when they host Coker College.
Women's Soccer: (4-3, 1-1 CVAC)

This Week: 9/18: at King College, 9/23: vs. Coker
The Lady Bobcats traveled to Carolinas-Virginia Athletic Conference rival Queen's University last weekend, falling 3-1, evening their conference record at 1-1. Maribeth Novak (Homer Glen, IL) scored for the Lady Bobcats in the loss. The Lady Bobcats will battle King College in non-conference action on Monday, before returning to home to take on Coker College in CVAC action.
Volleyball: (10-6, 2-1 CVAC)
Last Week: 9/13: L 0-3 vs. ETSU 9/15: L 2-3 at Limestone, 9/16: W 3-0 at Anderson
This Week: 9/19: vs. Barton, 9/22: at Converse, 9/23: at Belmont Abbey
The Lady Bobcats hosted Division I Eastern Tennessee State University, falling 0-3 to the Lady Bucs. The Lady Bobcats hit the road last weekend for CVAC action, falling at Limestone in a see-saw affair that went the distance, five games. Rebounding the next night, the Lady Bobcats cruised to a 3-0 lead over Anderson, improving their CVAC record to 2-1.
