Former Bobcat and NFL Standout, Troy Brown, Elected to College Football Hall of Fame

BOSTON, MASS. -- Former Lees-McRae College junior college football player and former New England Patriot standout receiver, Troy Brown, will be inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame.

Brown, who was a two-time football letterman --1989-1990 -- at Lees-McRae back in its junior college days, transfered to Marshall to finished his collegiate career before heading onto the NFL where he was drafted in the eighth round by the New England Patriots.

Brown is being inducted into the Hall of Fame as a member of the Thundering Herd.

While a member of the Bobcats' football team, Brown caught 41 passes for 836 yards and six touchdowns. In his second season, he led the team with 37 catches for 685 yards, an average of 18.5 yards per catch, and scored four TDs. He was also named Region X All-Region First Team and to the All-Coastal Conference Second Team.
