Bobcats Name New Basketball Coach

Banner Elk, NC--Lees-McRae College recently named Scott Polsgrove as the new men's basketball head coach. Polsgrove joins the Lees-McRae Bobcats from King College, Bristol, Tenn., where he was head men's basketball coach for 14 years.

Before coaching at King College, Coach Polsgrove was the assistant basketball coach at his alma mater, Taylor University, Upland, Ind.
Although he is focused on the upcoming year, he wants to immediately begin recruiting for the 2007 season.

"I have a lot to learn," he said. "Recruiting is going to be vital, but I also need to get to know the current players."

Coach Polsgrove and his wife Kim, as well as their six children (ages 4-13) look forward to becoming a part of the Lees-McRae College and Banner Elk community.

"I am very excited to be here," Coach Polsgrove said. "I think it's a great opportunity for me and my family."

Lees-McRae is a four-year, co-educational liberal arts college affiliated with the Presbyterian Church U. S. A, located in the town of Banner Elk. The college is dedicated to service learning and offers majors in twenty-four fields.
