North Greenville University shot 63.3% to race out to a 19-point halftime lead over visiting Lees-McRae College Monday evening in non-conference men's basketball action. The Crusaders survived a second-half rally by the Bobcats to hold on for the 82-71 victory and improve to 11-10 on the season. The Bobcats see their record fall to 4-15.
North Greenville was sparked in the first half by Jordan Richmond's 17 points and Amonzo Gantt's ten rebounds. The Crusaders headed into halftime with a comfortable 47-28 lead.
Lees-McRae slowly chipped away at the Crusaders' lead, eventually cutting to deficit to five points at the 4:30 mark. The Bobcats were spurred by Aaron Dugger's five second-half 3-point baskets. However, North Greenville hit seven free throws down the stretch, and played tough defense to hold off the surging Bobcats for the win.
Richmond led NGU with 20 points and six rebounds. Gantt scored 12 points and grabbed a game-high 14 rebounds. Austin Randel chipped in 14 points, while Josh Burgess added 13 points and six assists.

The Bobcats will return to action Thursday evening when Carolinas-Virginia Athletic Conference foe Belmont Abbey visits Williams Gymnasium. Tip off is slated for 7:30pm.
