Up Close & Personal with Blake Carr

Banner Elk, NC--Join us today as we get Up Close & Personal with senior guard Blake Carr who hails from Seymour, TN. Carr came to LMC from Hiwassee Community College with team and classmate Mario McClunie and plans to pursue a degree in pharmacy after graduating from Lees-McRae.

1. What made you decide to come to Lees-McRae? I wanted to continue my education and play ball. LMC gave me a chance to do both.

2. How long have you been playing basketball? I started playing ball at about five, but I did not play on a team until 4th grade.

3. What are your personal goals for this season? This is my last year at LMC, and I would love to be part of LMC's first winning season.

4. What's your favorite basketballt memory here at Lees-McRae so far? The win over #19 ranked Mount Olive last year is my best memory so far.

5. Who has been the most influential person on your athletic career? I think my dad has been the most influential. He tells me what I do wrong while keeping me motivated.

6. If you weren't playing basketball, what other sport would you play? I would run track. I ran track in high school and went to state while setting some school records.

7. What is your major and what do you plan to do with your degree? I am a pre-med major. I plan to enter pharmacy school next year so I can be a pharmacist.

8. If you could travel back in time to any point in histoy, where would you go? I would go back to the early 1900's. It was any interesting time for the United States.

9. What is you favorite book? My favorite book is The Long Walk by Steven King

10. What is your favorite food? My favoite food is anything that my mom cooks.

11. If you could visit any place in the world, where would it be? I would like to go to Demark. My grandmother is from there.

12. What is one word that descibes and why? Trustworthy is the one word that describes me. I always have my teammates' backs.
