Bobcats Sign Boardman

Banner Elk, N.C.--The Lees-McRae men's head basketball coach Scott Polsgrove is pleased to announce the addition of Kyle Boardman of Clemmons, N.C. to the Bobcat squad for the 2008-2009 season. Boardman signed the National Letter of Intent and will join the team in preseason conditioning as in August his begins his first semester at the college.

Kyle Boardman, a 6'5 post player, averaged a double-double this past season with 18.6 points and 10.5 rebounds per game at West Forsyth High School. Boardman also added 1.7 blocks and 2.1 assists per game. An excellent shooter overall shooter at 55%, he also shot 37% from behind the arc.

Boardman was recognized for his playing ability both as a junior and a senior when he was selected to the Central Piedmont All Conference Team and as an All Northwest North Carolina player.

"Kyle is going to be a great addition to our basketball team," commented Polsgrove. "He is a post player who can score both inside and out and is a very aggressive rebounder."

The Bobcats open their season at the Disney Division II Tipoff Tournament in Orlando, Florida the where they will play three games over the weekend of November 7-9.
