INDIANAPOLIS --- Lees-McRae College junior DJ Brown (Anderson, S.C.) continues to rank among the national leaders in three-point field goal percentage, entering the week listed 15th in the NCAA Division II men's basketball statistics, announced NCAA officials Monday.
Lees-McRae 5-12, 5-4 Conference Carolinas) is in the midst of one of the best seasons in program history, entering the week ranked sixth in the league standings with a 5-4 mark after falling to Barton College on Saturday evening, 74-71, in an overtime thriller. The Bobcats have excelled on the defensive end of the floor in conference play this season, leading the league in scoring defense (68.1), field goal percentage (40.7), and three-point field goal percentage (33.3).
Head coach Scott Polsgrove's squad enters the week ranked 75th in the nation in three-point field goal percentage on the offensive end, knocking down 36.9 percent of its attempts from downtown, while also ranking 89th in triples per game (6.8). Brown is currently listed 15th in the nation in three-point field goal percentage with a 46.3 percent clip from beyond the arc, while ranking 42nd in triples per game (2.8).
Lees-McRae returns to the court on Wednesday when the Bobcats travel to Belmont, N.C. to take on Belmont Abbey College in conference play at 7:30 p.m.
