GAFFNEY, S.C. --- Lepreece Lynch and Kendall Isler dropped 14 points each, but the Lees-McRae men's basketball team fell short to Limestone, 73-62, in a Conference Carolinas tilt Tuesday evening at Timken Center in Gaffney, S.C.
The Saints (4-9, 2-3 CC) saw a trio score at least 16 points while the team shot 63% from the field. The Bobcats (7-7, 4-1) fell for the first time in conference play despite holding a 15-5 advantage on the offensive glass.
Isler (Winder, Ga.) enjoyed a seven-point outburst in a 67-second span while the Bobcats grabbed a 15-8 lead.
LC's Teron Wallace tallied eight consecutive points while the Saints led 22-17.
LMC used a 5-0 run, powered by a Josh Gaither (Statesville, N.C.) triple and Isler bucket to tie the contest at 32 in the waning moments of the first half.
A quartet of LC players registered a bucket as part of a 10-2 run in less than two minutes, 47-40.
Senior Jonathan Honore (Baton Rouge, La.) sliced in for a layup while LMC responded with a 10-2 run of its own.
The Saints retorted with an 11-0 run to grab the lead for good, 60-50.
Lynch (Winston-Salem, N.C.) notched five points in the final minute.
Both teams shot 11 free throws while Wallace led all scorers with 17 points.
The Bobcats travel to Southern Wesleyan Saturday, Jan. 9 at 7:30 p.m. for a CC tilt in Central, S.C.
