BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College men's basketball team will lift the lid on its 2016-17 regular season this weekend at the Conference Challenge in Greeneville, Tenn. LMC will open the event with a game at 8 p.m. against Tusculum before taking on No. 2 Lincoln Memorial at 3 p.m. Saturday.

Scouting the Bobcats – The Bobcats will look to improve upon their 16-15 record overall from last season heading into the 2016-17 campaign. Junior Lepreece Lynch returns is the team's leading scorer returning this season after averaging 12.7 points per game as a sophomore. In total, the Bobcats have 12 players with collegiate playing experience and have four newcomers on their roster.

Scouting Tusculum – Tusculum finished last season with a record of 14-15 overall. Like the Bobcats, the Pioneers are a veteran team as they return eight lettermen and two starters from last season. Mounce also is in the top five in the program's history in blocked shots.

Scouting Lincoln Memorial – The Railsplitters enter the 2016-17 season ranked No. 2 in the nation according to the first NABC Coaches' Poll after finishing as the national runner-up last season. LMU went 34-3 in 2015-16 and it returns several key cogs from that squad. All-SAC Preseason First Team picks Luquon Choice, Emanuel Terry and Dorian Pinson figure to be the leaders for the team this season.
