BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College men's basketball team will continue the non-conference portion of its schedule Tuesday as the Bobcats will head to Winston-Salem State for a 7 p.m. contest.
Scouting the Bobcats – LMC enters Tuesday's game with a 0-2 record after losses to Tusculum (85-81) and No. 2 Lincoln Memorial (94-66) last weekend. The Bobcats are averaging 73.5 points per game and are shooting 37.2 percent from three-point range so far in 2016-17.
Individually, Lees-McRae has been led by a trio of redshirt juniors in Lepreece Lynch, Donte Falls and Jordan Turner. Lynch, who entered the season as the team's top returning scorer from last season, is averaging 13.5 points per game and is shooting 55 percent from the field. Falls and Turner, meanwhile, are both averaging over 10 points per contest with marks of 11 and 10, respectively.
Scouting the Rams – Like the Bobcats, Winston-Salem State has played a pair of games so far this season. WSSU boasts a record of 1-1 after a 70-57 loss to Charleston (W.V) and a 93-90 victory at Concord.
Robert Colon has been a huge addition for the Rams in the early going as the freshman from Jacksonville, N.C. is scoring at a 23.5 points per game clip during his rookie campaign. On the boards, WSSU has the fourth-leading rebounder in the CIAA in the form of senior Trey Wilson. Wilson is averaging seven rebounds so far in his final collegiate campaign.
