BANNER ELK, N.C. – After beginning its season with seven non-conference games, the Lees-McRae College men's basketball team will open Conference Carolinas play Tuesday at Emmanuel. The game against the Lions is scheduled for a 7:30 p.m. tip-off.
Scouting the Bobcats – Lees-McRae is fresh off its first win of the season as it defeated Johnson C. Smith last week, 70-66. Overall, LMC holds a record of 1-5 with two of the losses coming by just four points.
The Bobcats have had contributions from several different players so far as 16 players have seen playing time. Jordan Turner has been the team's top scoring threat averaging 12.2 points per game. Fellow junior Donte Falls is also averaging over 10 points per contest (11.3) and is the team's top rebounder averaging 6.0 per game.
Scouting the Lions – The Lions are looking to get back on track after dropping their last two games by a combined 39 points. Overall, Emmanuel is 3-3 and boasts a 1-0 mark in league play after beating Mount Olive, 72-64.
Emmanuel has a varied offense with four players averaging 10 or more points per game. Emerson McClung leads the way averaging just over 15 points (15.3). Senior Zach Lillie is scoring 11.2 points per game and is leading the way for the Lions on the glass with 7.8 rebounds per contest.
