Bobcats Picked Sixth

The Lees-McRae College Bobcats lacrosse team has been picked to finish sixth in this season's Carolinas-Virginia Athletic Conference preseason coaches poll. A pair of Bobcats were named to the preseason players to watch list.

The 2007 season will mark the first year the CVAC sponsors men's lacrosse. Previously, members of the CVAC who fielded men's lacrosse combined with Catawba College, Mars Hill College, Presbyterian College and Wingate University to form the Deep South Conference. The Deep South will continue as a five team league with the addition of Saint Leo University. Bobcats senior captain and '06 leading scorer Tyler Stieber was named to the CVAC Preseason Players to Watch List. Last season's leading goal getter, sophomore Kirk Rogers was also recognized on the list.

Head Coach Mat Edmunds '02, (pictured top left), returns 11 letter winners and welcomes 22 freshman and a pair of junior transfers. The Bobcats will open the season February 24th at Wingate University.
