Canoy Named CVAC Player of the Week

Lees-McRae College lacrosse goalkeeper Adam Canoy has been selected as the Carolinas-Virginia Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week for the fourth week of the 2007 season. The honor is the first for any Bobcat this season.

Canoy continues to be a wall in the cage for the Bobcats, registering double digit saves in six starts this season. Last week against Division I Manhattan, Canoy put up 10 saves facing 35 shots in 45 minutes of work, while tallying 16 against regional foe Saint Leo facing two less shots than the game before.

Entering today's contest against Presbyterian College, Canoy's 90 total saves rank second in the nation while his 53% save percentage ranks 14th in Division II. Over six games, Canoy has averaged 15 saves per game.
