Lees-McRae's Nesdill Named Men's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week

High Point, N.C.-- Lees-McRae College's Andy Nesdill (1-6 overall, 0-2 conf.) has been selected as the NCAA Division II Conference Carolinas men's lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week during week number six in the 2009 season.

Sophomore goalkeeper Andy Nesdill led the Lees-McRae College Bobcat's men's lacrosse team to a 10-8 win over Rollins College to give the team their first win of the season. Nesdill faced 32 total shots and made 18 saves. The two teams took an 8-8 tie into the fourth quarter. Nesdill made eight of his ten saves in the fourth and didn't allow a single goal to earn the win for the Bobcats.

Nesdill also contributed on the offensive end for the Bobcats with his first career goal and picked up two groundballs in the winning effort.
