YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. --- Jeff White (Middle Township, N.J.) tallied two goals and Ryan Harrison (Lake Mary, Fla.) made 15 saves to pace the Lees-McRae College men's lacrosse team on Wednesday afternoon, as Young Harris College pulled away in the fourth quarter en route to a 14-4 victory in non-conference play.
Young Harris (5-3) outshot Lees-McRae (0-10) by a 39-20 margin in the contest, including a 23-9 advantage in the first half, while converting 23-of-24 clears and winning 13-of-22 face-offs. The Mountain Lions won the battle on the ground by a 37-21 stretch, as the Bobcats converted 19-of-21 clearing attempts.
White paced the Bobcats with two goals and one assist, scooping up a team-high four ground balls, as Jarrod Brady (Kernersville, N.C.) and Kyle Judge (Hampstead, Md.) each added a strike of their own. Brady also chipped in an assist, while Harrison tallied 15 saves between the pipes.
Jeff Rivait led the way for Young Harris with four goals on six shots, as Ronnie Adams added a hat trick and a game-high two assists. Mason McBroom and Ryan Ningard each chipped in two goals, while Andrew Kim scooped up a game-high six ground balls. Tyler Price also posted one goal and two assists; Bobby Parker made eight saves between the pipes for the Mountain Lions.
Young Harris jumped out to an early lead in the first half, scoring the game's first four goals before Brady set up Judge at the 8:52 mark of the second quarter to cut the advantage to 4-1. The Mountain Lions would answer with a trio of strikes, pushing the lead to 7-1 with 6:19 left in the half, before White capped the period with his first goal of the day at the 5:45 mark.
White doubled his total to open the second half, trimming the margin to 7-3 with 12:41 remaining in the third quarter. Young Harris would counter with six straight goals, widening the gap to 13-3 on Rivait's fourth of the afternoon at the 3:11 mark of the fourth.
Brady answered for the Bobcats 29 seconds later, between the YHC netminder for his third goal of the season off a pass from White. Adams capped the day's scoring for the Mountain Lions with 43 seconds remaining.
Lees-McRae returns to action on Saturday when the Bobcats resume their Conference Carolinas schedule with a 2 p.m. matchup against Mount Olive College on Tate Field.
