PARKERSBURG, W. Va. --- Lees-McRae men's lacrosse players Schuylor Dickerson and Dalton Lamb recorded hat tricks, but LMC fell 16-8 in a nonconference bout against Ohio Valley at Stadium Field Sunday afternoon in Parkersburg, W. Va.
The Fighting Scots (3-11) saw Kyle Aylesworth explode for seven goals while Zakk McCarthy chipped in with three. The Bobcats (0-13) forced 18 turnovers while being successful on 19-of-20 clears.
Dickerson (Crozet, Va.) put the Bobcats up early with an unassisted goal 77 seconds into the contest.
OVU responded with a 6-0 run while Brandon Buck dished out a pair of assists and Aylesworth notched two of his goals.
Lamb (Clemmons, N.C.) earned an assist on Dickerson's second goal with 1:26 remaining in the opening quarter while LMC took advantage of an OVU penalty.
The roles flipped when Dickerson fed Lamb in a man-up situation to shave the deficit to four, 7-3.
Freshman Louis Parks (Mays Landing, N.J.) tallied a goal at the 2:32 mark in the second, but the Fighting Scots scored three goals before the half ended to take an 11-4 lead into intermission.
Defender Alex Poole (Winston-Salem, N.C.) paced the Bobcats with five groundballs.
Both defenses impressed in the third while each team only scored one goal apiece.
Lamb and Dickerson combined for three goals in the fourth while Aylesworth had two.
OVU's Stan Mackey scooped a game-high eight groundballs while Harley Gadomski earned the win with nine saves.
Benjamin Shifflett (Clemmons, N.C.) stopped 11 shots on the afternoon.
The Fighting Scots amassed 13 penalties compared to LMC's two.
The Bobcats conclude their regular season with postseason implications on the line with a trip to Belmont Abbey in Belmont, N.C. Wednesday at 3:30 p.m.
