BANNER ELK, N.C. --- Five different players scored a goal, but the Lees-McRae men's lacrosse team dropped a 19-6 decision to Brevard Tuesday afternoon in sunny Banner Elk, N.C.
The Tornados (7-6) climbed over the .500 mark thanks to a 12-point effort from Adam Wiedemann. The Bobcats (1-9) forced 16 turnovers while amassing more than 30 shots on goal for the fourth time this season.
BC struck for two quick goals in the first 99 seconds.
The duo sit second and third on the team in goals scored.
Weidemann dished out five of his seven assists, spearheading a Tornados' 5-0 run to conclude the quarter.
Freshman sensation Tanner Jones (Comox Valley, B.C.) scored his eighth goal on the year 33 seconds into the second quarter while Stottlar earned one of his two assists.
Jones would strike again with 1:44 remaining in the quarter while Schuyler Dickerson (Crozet, Va.) dished out the assists.
Sophomore Louis Parks (Mays Landing, N.J.) took advantage of a man-up situation and found the back of the net with 9:53 remaining in the fourth.
Senior Joshua Shingleton (Temecula, Calif.) whipped one past BC's Xzavier Holmes-Copeland with 5:10 on the clock.
LMC and BC collected 18 groundballs each in the second half while the Bobcats held a 19-17 advantage in shots in the final 30 minutes.
LMC welcomes Shorter for a nonconference battle Saturday, April 4 at 11 a.m. at Tate Field.
