FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. – The Lees-McRae College men's lacrosse team defeated Emmanuel (GA) by a score of 16-8 Saturday afternoon to not only pick up its first conference win of the season, but also the program's first conference road victory since the 2009 season. The victory is LMC's third of the season moving its record to 3-4. The three wins match the program's record for wins in a single season.
Sophomore Alec Molander led Lees-McRae with nine points in the victory (5g, 4a). Dane Carney, Wyatt Daziel, Blaine Stottlar and Tanner Jones also posted multi-goal performances in the win as well. Those five players accounted for all of LMC's points Saturday except an assist by Noah Reid, which was his first career point.
Freshman Ryan Beauchamp paced LMC with six ground balls and was also integral in the Bobcats going 16-for-25 in face-offs against the Lions with 15 wins by himself.
Cameron Castle picked up his third win of the season Saturday after matching a career-high with 22 saves. The victory for Castle is a historic one as he is now the winningest goalie in LMC men's lacrosse history with six victories.
LMC will look to get a winning streak started Wednesday when they visit Pfeiffer for another Conference Carolinas showdown. The game is scheduled to get underway at 7 p.m.
