BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College men's lacrosse team will wrap up the 2018 regular season this Saturday when it travels to nationally-ranked Belmont Abbey College. First face-off for that game is set for noon from Belmont, North Carolina.
Last Time Out – LMC dropped a 13-10 decision at Coker last Saturday. With that loss, the Bobcats' record dips to 2-5 overall and 1-4 in conference play.
More Points for Molander – The Bobcat attack was led last Saturday by junior attackman Alec Molander. Molander scored five goals and added a pair of assists in the matchup against the Cobras. The Victoria, British Columbia native leads the way for the Bobcats with 37 points (27g, 10a) on the season.
Senior Salute – Senior Tanner Jones also had a stellar performance at Coker with a five-point effort (4g, 1a). With the five-point outing against the Cobras, Jones now has 25 points (16g, 9a), which ranks second on the team.
About the Opponent – Belmont Abbey enters this weekend's matchup with the Bobcats with a record of 9-4 overall and 4-1 in conference action. BAC, which is ranked in within the top 15 of the national polls in a pair of national polls, has played a tough schedule with three of the four losses it has on its resume have come against ranked foes. Individually, Liam Osborne and Adam Wiedemann led the way for the Crusader attack with 45 and 43 points, respectively.
Series Rewind vs. Opponent – The Crusaders upended the Bobcats by a score of 21-5 last season at Tate Field. In their last meeting at Belmont Abbey, the Bobcats fell by a score of 30-6 in a contest where the Crusaders were ranked No. 15 in the nation.
