Turnello adds fire power to Bobcats

Alex Turnello (El Paso, TX) committed to Lees-McRae College and signed the National Letter of Intent to participate for the Lees-McRae College Men's Soccer program.

Alex a graduate of Coronado High School will be joining the Bobcats in 2006. Alex was an All-District player at high school and also played ODP at regional level, state team and state pool.
Head Coach Chris Whalley commented "Alex comes from a good pedigree and played ODP soccer at the regional level. He has great speed and good feet and I feel he will be able to help us in a forward or outside midfield position".
Alex is undecided in his Major while at Lees-McRae College, and is the son of Alan Turnello JR
The Bobcat Men's Soccer program is coming off of a solid 2005 season. The Bobcats beat three top teams in the Nation including UNC Pembroke, Lander and Clayton State. Coach Whalley indicated "my goal is to get the Bobcats back to winning the conference championships as in 2002 & 2003 seasons and to make the program in to a Powerhouse in the Southeast Region".
Lees-McRae is a private four-year liberal arts college located in Banner Elk, NC. Lees-McRae is affiliated with the NCAA Division II and the Carolinas-Virginia Athletic Conference
