Six of the Current Lees McRae College Men's Soccer Team has signed contracts to play in the Professional Development League this summer.
Nathan Wall ( Des Moines, Iowa), Berin Boracic ( Orlando, Florida) and Diego Cordeiro ( Davenport, Florida) have all committed to playing for Ajax Orlando.
Bobby Layburn ( Centennial, Colorado) has committed to playing for the Colorado Blizzard.
Matthew Lacey ( Suffolk, England) and Jonathan Bownes ( Nottingham, England) have both committed to playing for the Richmond Kickers.
All of the guys involved are looking forward to the challenge and opportunity they are getting this summer, and are happy that they can continue to play soccer throughout the summer.
Head Coach Chris Whalley said "I am extremely pleased for all the boys. They have worked hard all year for us during the fall and spring and I am pleased that they can continue to play at a very good level throughout the summer. The experience and playing time they will get this summer can only help them and us as a team to prepare for the upcoming Fall Season"
The Professional Development League (PDL) is played from May to July. The League gives College players a chance to play at a very good level without harming their eligibility for College, and is also a breeding ground for some ex Professional players and amateur players.
