The Lees-McRae College Bobcats soccer team dropped a 2-1 decision to Pfeiffer University Falcons Tuesday evening at Tate Field in Carolinas-Virginia Athletics Conference play.
After a scoreless first half, the visiting Falcons took a 1-0 lead in the 52nd minute when Cihan Nuhoglu raced for an open ball and put one past Bobcats keeper Sean Paradise. The Falcons would strike again four minutes later when Nuhoglu found David Lorenzo at the top of the box to gain the quick two goal lead. Jonny Bownes connected with Kyle McGimsey's corner in the 62 minute with a header to cut the Bobcats deficit to one; however, the score would stand 2-1, in favor of the Falcons.
"We deserved everything we got tonight. We just plain and simply played poorly," commented Head Coach Chris Whalley.
The Bobcats record evens at 5-5-1 (2-2 CVAC). The team will look to regroup at St. Andrew's Presbyterian College this Saturday at 4:00p.m.
