Up Close & Personal with Tom Brailsford

Banner Elk, NC--A native of Rotherham, England, this freshman defender has started eleven games for the Bobcats so far this year. Brailsford has acquired four assists to date. Join us as we find out more about him as we continue our Up Close series.

1. What made you decide to come to Lees-McRae? The men's soccer program was the deciding factor.

2. How long have you been playing soccer? I've been kicking the ball around since I was seven.

3. What are your personal goals for this season? I'd like to reach my personal and my teams goals.

4. Who has been the most influential person on your athletic career? Eric Cantona

5. If you weren't playing soccer what other sport would you play? I'd like to play cricket.

6. What is your major and what do you plan to do with your degree? Business Administration...I hope to get a well-paid job.

7. If you could travel back in time to any point in history, where would you go? Like a lot of my teammates I'd want to see the 1966 World Cup Final of England vs West Germany.

8. What is your favorite book? Lenny Mc'lean's book The Guv'nor is my favorite.

9. What is your favorite food? Pizza

10. If you could visit any place in the world, where would it be? I'd like to visit Australia.

Tom's Story … I came from Rotherham in England. I first got interested in coming to the states whilst at college in England. I got in touch with Chris and was impressed with LMC and the soccer scheme. Now I'm here and am loving it so far!!
