Murfreesboro, NC--In the last regular season game of the year the Bobcats trounced the Chowan Warriors in Murfreesboro, NC scoring three goals in the first five minutes of the game. Lees-McRae improved to 16-1-1 on the season while Chowan fell to 2-18 for the year.
The Bobcats came out strong, scoring three goals between the 4:21 and 5:54 mark of the game. Berin Boracic (Orlando, FL) struck first with the assist coming from Kyle McGimsey (Plant City, FL). Twenty-five seconds later Matt Lacey (Norwich, England) added goal number two. Diego Cordeiro (Orlando, FL) fired a shot in just over a minute later to bring the score to 3-0.
The fired up team continued their scoring drive with Matt Lacey gaining his second goal of the game followed by a Kyle McGimsey score with an assist by Dale Parker (Worksop, England).
Berin Boracic added goal number six for the Bobcats with an assist off of Lee Squires (Sheffield, England) to bring his total for the year to 17 (41 points). Then, in the 33rd minutes Squires added another goal bringing his tally for the season to 18 goals and a total of 42 points.
Before the half would close the Bobcats would find the net two more times with Anthony Mantegani (Henderson, TN) scoring off an assist by Tom Brailsford (Rotherham, England). Brailsford followed up three minutes later with a goal of his own to end the scoring frenzy of the first half at 9-0.
After halftime the pace of the game slowed with the 10th goal of the game for the Bobcats coming at 77:50 by Ian Dargavel (Neath, Wales). The Bobcats were to score once more before the final buzzer went off with a shot by Bobby Layburn (Centennial, CO).
The Bobcats held the Warriors to no shots in the match while they fired off 24 shots, 15 which were on goal.
The Bobcats return home to prepare for the first round of the Conference Carolinas Tournament Tuesday, October 30 at 7:00pm.
