#2 Bobcats Square Off With #18 Montevallo in NCAA Elite Eight

BANNER ELK, NC--The Lees-McRae College Bobcats soccer team season continues this weekend when the University of Montevallo Falcons visit Tate Field Saturday evening for a 7:00pm contest. The winner will move on to the NCAA Final Four hosted by the University of West Florida.

The Bobcats (21-1-1), ranked number two in the country, earned their trip to Saturday's NCAA Elite Eight contest by defeating number #19 Lander University 1-0 last Saturday to win the NCAA Southeast Region Championship. The Falcons (17-3-2), enter the game as the number 18 in the country, and represent the South Region. Montevallo defeated University of Tampa on penalty kicks, (6-5), after 110 minutes of play saw the teams deadlocked at one.

The Bobcats, playing the NCAA Tournament for the first time in program history under third year Head Coach Chris Whalley (pictured top left), are currently riding a 16 game winning streak, their last loss coming in overtime (1-0), September 15th on the road against Conference Carolinas foe Anderson.
