Bobcats Tie Trojans, 1-1

BANNER ELK, N.C. - The Lees-McRae College Bobcats (11-2-1, 5-0-1) tied the Mt. Olive College Trojans (8-4-1, 2-3-1) 1-1 Saturday night at Tate Field in a Conference Carolinas match.

After a scoreless first half, the Bobcats scored in the 48th minute when David Palmer collected a rebound off the save and found the back of the net. Luke Staats' header was saved creating the goal.

The Trojans answered in the 76th minute when Frank Boateng scored on Chris McClaugherty's corner kick to tie the game.

Neither team could capitalize on scoring opportunities in the two overtime periods.

The Bobcats outshot the Trojans 22-6 and had 10 shots on goal compared to two.

The Bobcats will take the pitch Wednesday, October 15th at 7 p.m. at Queens University of Charlotte.
