BANNER ELK, N.C. - The Lees-McRae College men's soccer team has moved up the NSCAA National Rankings to number four.
For the first time in the 2009 season, the Bobcats have cracked
the top five in the NSCAA National Rankings and have held the top
spot in the Southeast Regional Rankings for the past two weeks.
The Bobcats have started the season 5-0 early in the season. The team will put their ranking on the line Wednesday when they travel to UNC-Pembroke for a regional match.
"This is the third year in a row we have started well," head coach Chris Whalley said. "We are pleased with the ranking as its testament to the boys hard work so far."
"As I always say though, its where you are ranked in December that matters, and we have to improve and work a lot harder if we want to be amongst the nation's elite at the season's end."
