HIGHT POINT, N.C. -- Lees-McRae College's Berin Boracic (7-0-0 overall, 3-0-0 conf.) has been selected as the NCAA Division II Conference Carolinas men's soccer Player of the Week during week number five in the 2009 season.
The senior forward, Berin Boracic, scored all five of the goals for the for No. 4 national ranked Lees-McRae College Bobcats men's soccer teams as they went 2-0 during the week and remained unbeaten on the season.
Boracic started the week with two goals on the road at UNC-Pembroke. His first goal came on a shot from 25-yards to give the Bobcats the lead. After UNC-P tied the match forcing overtime, Boracic scored the game winner in the 103rd minute to give the Bobcats the road win.
In the team's second match of the week on the road against No. 23 Coker, Boracic struck in the 30th minute and again four minutes later on what proved to be the game-winning goal. He scored his third goal to complete the hat trick in the 61st minute.
Boracic has scored eight goals in seven games with two assists for 18 total points. He currently leads the Bobcats in goals (8) and game-winning goals (3).
