BANNER ELK, N.C.- Lees-McRae College head men's soccer coach Matt Thompson has announced the addition of Jim Hart as volunteer assistant coach for his number two nationally ranked Bobcats.
"It is an honor to have Jim as part of our coaching staff," Thompson said. "Somebody of his caliber is a welcomed addition to our program. He is clearly very dedicated and committed to achieving our team goals this season and we are lucky to have him."
"It is a really good opportunity to work with coach Thompson and coach Cormac," Hart said. "I have never been around such a hard working group of guys, and I am really looking forward to this season."
"Jim's a versatile person, who can help coach Thompson and [assistant] coach [Pat] Cormac with a great deal of things both on and off the field," Athletic Director Craig McPhail said. "It's always great to have role models help with our young people, especially in this phase of their journey through life and Jim will be valuable to these young men."
Hart comes to Lees-McRae from Wilson, N.C. and is married to Caroline Hart, Vice-President of Institutional Advancement for Lees-McRae. He is the father to 7-year old McRae Hart.
