KANSAS CITY, Kan. --- The Lees-McRae College men's soccer team is ranked sixth in the latest edition of the NSCAA/HendrickCars.com Division II Southeast Region poll, jumping four spots from last week, announced College officials Tuesday.
Lees-McRae (6-2, 4-0 CC) has played well of late, entering the week riding a three-match winning streak while emerging victorious from six of its last seven contests. The Bobcats registered a pair of crucial victories last week, knocking off Carson-Newman College (ranked ninth in this week's poll) by a 2-0 score, and edging Barton College 1-0 despite playing a man short for nearly 50 minutes.
Montevallo (7-0-1) is listed atop the region for the second straight week, followed by Flagler (6-1-0), Mars Hill (7-0-1), Clayton State (7-1-0) and Lenoir-Rhyne (6-1-0). The Bobcats are sixth, followed by Lincoln Memorial (5-1-0) and Erskine (5-2-0). Carson-Newman (4-2-1), Catawba (5-2-1), Coker (4-2-3) and North Georgia (4-1-3) are tied for ninth.
Lees-McRae returns to the pitch on Wednesday when the Bobcats travel to Bristol, Tenn. for a 5 p.m. non-conference matchup with King College.
