Jones listed sixth in nation in assists
INDIANAPOLIS --- Freshman midfielder Justin Jones (Jamestown, N.C.) continues to be ranked among the nation's leaders in assists, entering the week listed sixth in the country in helpers announced NCAA officials Tuesday with the release of the latest edition of the NCAA Division II men's soccer statistics.
Lees-McRae (8-2-2, 5-0-1 CC) enters the week riding a seven-match unbeaten strike, a stretch that includes a trio of shutout victories. The Bobcats are ranked 24th in the nation in winning percentage (0.75), 42nd in total goals (24), 43rd in team goals against average (0.95), and 55th in scoring offense (2.0).
Jones has been a tremendous part of the Bobcats' success this
season, entering the week ranked sixth in the nation in total
assists (seven) and 15th in helpers per match (0.58). Senior
forward Lee Squires (Sheffield, U.K.) begins the week ranked 24th
in total points (19) and 24th in total assists (five), while
ranking 36th in total goals (seven), 52nd in points per match
(1.58), and 61st in helpers per contest (0.42).
James Galvani (High Wycombe, U.K.) enters the week ranked 31st in total points (18), 36th in total goals (seven), 59th in total assists (four), 62nd in points per contest (1.5), and 69th in goals per contest (0.58). Freshman goalkeeper Thomas Rusling (Sheffield, U.K.) is also ranked 28th in goals against average (0.85) after recording his second shutout of the season on Saturday against Queens.
Lees-McRae returns to the pitch on Thursday when the Bobcats travel to Dahlonega, Ga. for a pivotal Southeast Region matchup with North Georgia. The match is slated to kick off at 5 p.m.
