INDIANAPOLIS --- Justin Jones (Jamestown, N.C.) continues to be ranked among the national leaders in assists, entering the week ranked eighth in helpers per match, announced NCAA officials Tuesday with the release of the NCAA Division II men's soccer statistics.
Lees-McRae (8-3-2, 5-0-1 CC) enters the week having recorded a result in seven of its last eight matches, including a 3-0 win at Queens (N.C.) to stay atop the Conference Carolinas standings. The Bobcats begin the week ranked 23rd in the nation in winning percentage (0.75), 42nd in team goals against average (0.95), and 48th in scoring offense (2.0). Lees-McRae is also ranked 60th in team goals (24.0).
Jones has been a tremendous part of the Bobcats' success this season, entering the week ranked 12th in the nation in total assists (seven) and eighth in helpers per match (0.58). Senior forward Lee Squires (Sheffield, U.K.) begins the week ranked 40th in points per match (1.58), 47th in total points (19) and 24th in total assists (five), while ranking 53rd in goals per match, 56th in total goals (seven) and 59th in helpers per contest (0.42).
James Galvani (High Wycombe, U.K.) enters the week ranked 50th in points per match (1.5), 53rd in goals per contest (0.58), 55th in total points (18), and 56th in total goals (seven). Freshman goalkeeper Thomas Rusling (Sheffield, U.K.) is also ranked 31st in goals against average (0.848) after recording his second shutout of the season on Saturday against Queens.
Lees-McRae returns to the pitch on Wednesday when the Bobcats host Mars Hill College in a Southeast Region showdown. The match is slated for 7 p.m.
