Lees-McRae ranked sixth in NCAA Southeast Region Poll

INDIANAPOLIS --- The Lees-McRae College men's soccer team is ranked sixth in the first edition of the NCAA Division II Southeast Region poll, announced NCAA officials Thursday.

Lees-McRae (10-4-1, 7-2 Conference Carolinas) saw its six-match winning streak come to a heartbreaking end on Wednesday night, as Erskine College held off a furious second-half rally by the Bobcats en route to a 3-1 win on LMC's senior night.

Coker College (12-1-0) sits atop the region, followed by Anderson University (11-2-0), Mars Hill College (9-2-0), Flagler College (9-3-1), and University of Montevallo (6-3-3). The Bobcats are sixth, followed by Lander University (6-4-2), Limestone College (8-5-0), University of North Carolina at Pembroke (8-3-1), and Clayton State University (7-5-0).

Lees-McRae returns to the pitch on Saturday, travelling to Hartsville, S.C. for a pivotal conference clash with league-leading and No. 7 Coker College at 7 p.m.
