INDIANAPOLIS --- The Lees-McRae College men's soccer team is ranked sixth in this week's NCAA Division II Southeast Region Poll after securing a pair of pivotal extra time wins over Coker College and Limestone College in its last two matches, announced NCAA officials Wednesday.
Lees-McRae (12-4-1, 9-2 Conference Carolinas) has won eight of its last nine matches to secure at least the second seed in next week's Conference Carolinas Tournament, having registered perhaps the result of the season with a 1-0 extra time victory over then-No. 7 Coker on Saturday.
Coker (13-2-0) tops the region this week, followed by Anderson University (13-2-0), Flagler College (11-3-1), Mars Hill College (9-2-1), and the University of Montevallo (6-3-4). Lees-McRae is sixth, followed by Lander University (7-5-2), Tusculum College (6-4-2), North Georgia College & State University (7-6-1), and University of North Carolina at Pembroke (8-3-2).
Lees-McRae returns to the pitch on Saturday when the Bobcats travel to Milligan College, Tenn. to take on Milligan College in their regular season finale at 2:30 p.m.
