TIGERVILLE, S.C. --- James Galvani continued his torrid senior campaign with two goals while the Lees-McRae men's soccer team cruised past North Greenville, 3-1, in Conference Carolinas play Wednesday evening at Pepsi Stadium in Tigerville, S.C.
The Bobcats (9-4-1, 4-2-1 CC) fired off 21 shots, with 15 landing on goal. The Crusaders (0-13, 0-9) remain winless on the season and are mathematically eliminated from postseason contention.
Galvani (High Wycombe, England) has tallied 10 goals on the season, which is tied for second in the conference.
The senior needed only 3:10 to put LMC up 1-0 when he found the back of the net following a pass from junior Matthew Cureton (Waxhaw, N.C.).
NGU's Jonathan Lagos tied it at one thanks to an Asa Wolfe assist at the 15:54 mark.
LMC used a little bit of luck and took the lead following a Crusader own goal less than five minutes later.
A quartet of Bobcats put shots on frame to start the second, but NGU's James Max Miller was able to make the save on multiple attempts.
Miller made seven saves in 51:01 minutes of action.
Both teams exchanged a trio of shots before Galvani notched his second goal of the contest after a Scott Alford (Hillsborough, N.C.) pass to deliver the knockout blow in the 81st minute.
Freshman Nathan Watt (Newcastle, England) nearly scored when he had a shot hit the post and followed up with a shot on goal seven seconds later.
LMC looks to push its win streak to three with a trip to Barton Saturday, Oct. 25 at 3 p.m. in Wilson, N.C. for a CC tilt.
