HIGH POINT, N.C. --- Lees-McRae senior James Galvani has been named the Conference Carolinas Men’s Soccer Player of the Week for his performance last week, the conference office announced Tuesday.
The High Wycombe, England, native made his first weekend of his senior campaign a memorable one by scoring all three of LMC’s goals. The Bobcats earned shutout wins against South Atlantic foes Catawba and Newberry.
The senior notched the match-winner with 11 seconds remaining in regulation to break a scoreless tie Thursday. He notched both of his goals in a span of 17 seconds in Saturday’s win at Newberry.
“It's a great recognition and a confidence boost for Galvani. It's great to see him back playing as he has the ability to win games for us as he proved last week,” praised head coach Lee Squires. “I hope he can keep scoring and playing well.”
LMC welcomes North Georgia Wednesday at 4 p.m. before hosting Lander Saturday at 3 p.m.
