WILSON, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College men's soccer team was shut out by the Barton Bulldogs by the final score of 2-0 Saturday afternoon. The Bobcats' record now stands at 3-11 overall and 3-5 in league play.
After a scoreless first half, the Bulldogs opened the scoring in the 46th minute with a goal from Alex David. Following the goal by David, the two teams played nearly 40 minutes of scoreless soccer until Austin Tausch's goal in the last minute of regulation rounded out the scoring.
The Bulldogs held the slight edge in terms of shots on goal, 13-11. Lees-McRae, however, held the advantage in corner kicks with six compared to Barton's three.
LMC will look to snap its four-game losing skid Wednesday when it returns to Tate Field for a Conference Carolinas contest against King (Tenn.) The game is scheduled to get underway around 7:30 p.m.
