Men's and Women's Soccer Both Earn United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award

FULL RELEASE

KANSAS CITY, MO. - The Lees-McRae College men's and women's soccer teams both earned the 2017-18 Team Academic Award given by United Soccer Coaches for their performance in the classroom last year.

773 total college soccer teams (289 men's teams and 484 women's teams) received the award, including LMC and eight other schools from Conference Carolinas. LMC was one of 191 institutions to have both their men's and women's teams recognized. College Team Academic Award recipients are active members of the United Soccer Coaches College Services Program with a composite grade point average of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale for all players on the roster.

The men's soccer program earned a cumulative 3.14 grade point average, while the women's program turned in a 3.32 mark.
