BANNER ELK, N.C. - The Lees-McRae College men's soccer team polished off its regular season with a 1-0 rebound win over Emmanuel (Ga.) on Thursday (Oct. 25) for Senior Night.
Game Summary - LMC would out-shoot Emmanuel 11-2 in the first half, before the teams would head to the break scoreless. The Bobcats would score the only goal of the night in the 57th minute when a far-side rush set up a Harvey McMorrow corner kick. McMorrow's corner kick found the head of Matt Dunn, who scored his first of the season which would ultimately serve as the winner. The Bobcats would hold off every rush Emmanuel brought at them in the second half, but LMC would hold on to preserve the shutout and pick up a much-needed win before the Conference Carolinas tournament.
Stats Rundown - LMC out-shot Emmanuel 16-4 in the win, including 6-1 in shots on goal. Pol Vassart, Agustin Ortiz and Connor Hahn each registered four shots on net, while Johannes Oeksnevad recorded two and Dunn and Kelvin Woods each fired one. Anton Sundstrom (7-6-2) made one save in the win.
