SALISBURY, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College men's soccer team fell on the road to Catawba College by a score of 4-2 in non-conference action Wednesday evening. The loss moves Lees-McRae's record to 2-6-2 on the season.
After Catawba scored the game's first goal in the first half, the Bobcats netted a pair of goals in quick succession to hold the lead 2-1 early on in the second half. The Indians, however, rallied back to score three unanswered goals to finish off the 4-2 victory. Lees-McRae's two goals Wednesday came from Johannes Oeksnevad and Stephon Davis, while Mikael Saekingstad picked up an assist. For both Oeksnevad and Davis, it marked their third goals of the 2019 campaign.
Anton Sundstrom took the loss in goal on Wednesday moving his record to 2-6-2 on the season. Sundstrom made six saves on 10 shots faced in the contest.
The Bobcats will be back in action on Saturday when they visit Chowan in a Conference Carolinas matchup. Kickoff for that matchup is set for 2:30 p.m.
