MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College Men's soccer team fell Saturday afternoon to Chowan by a score of 5-0. With the loss, the Bobcats end their season with a 3-11-2 record.
Lees-McRae found themselves defending most of the match with Chowan applying pressure throughout the game. The Bobcats faced 18 shots on Saturday with 10 being on frame. Lees-McRae did have their opportunities offensively, with the two best chances coming in the first half.
With about 20 minutes gone by, Anders Stoakes found the ball at his feet right outside the box. Stoakes took a touch and put a shot on goal but it curved just wide. Later in the first, Harvey McMorrow squared a pass right in front of the Chowan goal that just missed the foot of Johan Hedberg.
Anton Sundstrom would again get the start in goal for the Bobcats. Sundstrom made 5 saves on 18 shots faced.
