  • Chowan edges No. 12 Lees-McRae, 3-2, in overtime

    MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The No. 12 Lees-McRae College men’s soccer team led Chowan University 2-1 going into the final minutes of Saturday’s match until the Hawks tied the score at 2-2 with 1.3 seconds to go in regulation. After the scoring the tying goal, the Hawks won the game seven minutes into overtime to give the Bobcats their second straight loss and first defeat in conference play this season.
  • Lincoln Memorial hands No. 12 Lees-McRae its first loss of 2017, 3-2

    BANNER ELK, N.C. – The No. 12 Lees-McRae College men’s soccer team fell for the first time this season as Lincoln Memorial defeated the Bobcats by a score of 3-2 Wednesday evening at Tate Field. The loss moves LMC’s record to 5-1-1 on the season.

The Bobcats will take on LMU Wednesday at Tate Field before traveling to play the Hawks on Saturday. The start times for the two contests are slated for 7:30 p.m. and 2 p.m.
  • Harvey McMorrow tabbed Conference Carolinas men’s soccer player of the week

    HIGH POINT, N.C. – Lees-McRae College men’s soccer player Harvey McMorrow was named the Conference Carolinas men’s soccer player of the week Monday morning by the league office. McMorrow is the second Bobcat in as many weeks to receive player of the week honors after teammate Tom Deeley received the honor last week.

    MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. – Sophomore Harvey McMorrow scored his first collegiate goal in the 12th minute of play Saturday against Mount Olive to help lift the No. 17 Lees-McRae College men’s soccer to a 1-0 victory over UMO. The victory propels the Bobcats to a 5-0-1 record and a perfect 3-0-0 mark in league matches so far in 2017.

    BRISTOL, Tenn. – Behind a pair of second half goals from freshman Johannes Oeksnevad, the No. 17 Lees-McRae College men’s soccer team rallied from a 2-0 deficit to upend King (Tenn.) University by a score of 3-2 Wednesday afternoon in Bristol, Tenn. The victory moves Lees-McRae’s record to an unblemished 4-0-1 mark overall, including a 2-0-0 record in league matches.

    HIGH POINT, N.C. – Lees-McRae College men’s soccer player Tom Deeley was named the Conference Carolinas men’s soccer player of the week Monday morning by the league office. Deeley is the first men’s soccer player to earn a player of the week nod since September 9, 2014 when former Bobcat James Galvani earned the honor.

    BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College men’s soccer team scored three goals in the first 16 minutes Saturday to help propel it to a 4-1 victory over Barton in its first conference match of the 2017 season. The win improves LMC’s record to 3-0-1 on the season, which is its best four-game start to a season since 2009.

    WINGATE, N.C. – After falling behind Rollins College by a score of 3-1 early in the second half, the Lees-McRae College men’s soccer team rallied to score twice to force a 3-3 tie in its season-opening match Friday afternoon. Senior Tom Deeley netted a pair of goals, while Nathan Watt added a pair of assists to lead the Bobcats.

    WINGATE, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College men’s soccer team’s season-opening match against Rollins College originally scheduled for 4 p.m. Thursday afternoon has been postponed due to thunderstorms in the area. This contest will now be played at 4 p.m. Friday afternoon on the campus of Wingate University.

The Bobcats will kick off their season at 4 p.m. on Thursday vs. Rollins College before closing out their first weekend of action with a matchup against Saint Leo on Saturday at 2 p.m.

    HIGH POINT, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College men’s soccer team was selected to finish seventh in the Conference Carolinas men’s soccer preseason poll the league announced Wednesday. Additionally, seniors Tom Deeley and James Morgan along with junior Pol Vassart were named players to watch.

    BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College men’s soccer team had seven players play in either the Premier Development (PDL) or the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) this summer. These two leagues, which are widely considered two of the top amateur soccer leagues in the United States, are made up of college or academy players along with hopeful professionals and former professionals.

    BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College men’s soccer team unveiled its 2017 schedule Tuesday afternoon. The Bobcats, who will be under the direction of third-year Head Coach Rich Wall, are scheduled to play 17 matches this fall with seven of those contests set to be played at Tate Field.
