The Lees-McRae Men's Tennis Team squared off against Catawba College on Friday for their last scheduled match of the fall 2006 season. In the singles match-ups, Blair Propert proved to be the shining light for the Bobcats, coming up with Lees-McRae's only win in the singles defeating Catawba's Kyle Thorsten. Propert wasted no time in the first set, putting away Thorsten with a dominating 6-3 win followed by a crushing 6-2 victory in the second set to seal the match. Catawba's on-point playing proved too much for Lees-McRae in the other singles matches, leaving them with Propert's win as the highlight.
Not discouraged by the singles play, Lees-McRae proved the overall victor in the doubles match-ups against Catawba. The Bobcat team of Alek Mojski and Ricardo Velazquez took out Catawba's number one doubles team of Jose Velazquez and Drew Ramsey with a skilled 8-5 win. In the number 3 doubles match-up, Lees-McRae's Paul Meunow and Justin Cole also dominated the court in their 8-4 victory over Catawba's team of Kyle Thorsten and Shaun Bridgewater.
