Bobcats Ground Flying Fleet, 9-0

BANNER ELK, N.C. - The Lees-McRae College Bobcats men's tennis earned their first win of season with a 9-0 win over the Erskine College Flying Fleet Tuesday afternoon in their home and Conference Carolinas opener.


The Bobcats took care of the Flying Fleet in order because the match was moved inside the Lees-McRae College indoor tennis facility. The facility houses two indoor courts.

With the win, Lees-McRae improves to 1-4 overall and 1-0 in the Conference Carolinas, while Erskine falls to 0-2 on the season and 0-2 in the conference.

Travis VanHoy was the only Bobcat to earn his second win of the season with his two set win at the number four position.

Lees-McRae will host UNC-Asheville on Valentine's Day, Saturday, February 14th, at 1 p.m. for their next match.
