Bobcats Fall in Conference Carolinas Championship Match to Trojans, 5-1

SUMTER, S.C. - In the championship game of the Conference Carolinas Tournament, the Lees-McRae College Bobcats fell 5-1 to the Anderson University Trojans.


Despite taking the regular season match 6-3, the Bobcats fell short in the tournament rematch.

Lees-McRae slipped behind early in doubles, 3-0, and couldn't overcome the deficit.

The team's only win came at number six singles where Steve Karendal defeated Benjamin Pepion, 6-1, 6-0.

With the loss, the Bobcats fall to 18-6 overall.

Shaun Sumner and Alek Mojski earned All-Tournament Team honors for their effort in the tournament.

Despite the loss, the Bobcats will receive a berth into the Southeast Regional of NCAA Tournament.
